SENIOR CITIZENS


Canfield AARP 3104 will have a meeting and catered luncheon at 1 p.m. Monday at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. For information about the luncheon call 330-533-3528. The final bus trip for the year will be Thursday to Packard Music Hall in Warren to see “A Hawaiian Christmas.” The trip will include stops in Hermitage, Pa., at Kraynak’s Christmasland 2011 and Daffins Candies. Coitsville Seniors will have their annual Christmas party at 1 p.m. Monday at Bedford Trails Golf Course, 713 Bedford Road. Jane Orlo will preside, and a Christmas devotion will be given by Dorothy Churilla. Birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged. A 50-50 raffle will take place, Christmas carols will be sung, and Steve Hrycik will be the caller for card bingo. Members are reminded to take a gift for the gift exchange. General Electric Austintown Products Plant will have its third annual Christmas event Friday at 7 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings, 6000 Mahoning Ave., in the Austintown Plaza. All former employees, retirees and friends are invited to attend. Reservations are not necessary. Tickets will be available for a pasta and wine basket raffle at a cost of $2 each or six for $5. All proceeds will benefit the Rescue Mission.

Holy Name Seniors will have their annual Christmas party at 1 p.m. Dec. 11 in Founders Hall. The cost is $6. To make a reservation call Mary Calai at 330 533-3534. Members are asked to take canned goods for the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen. Hostesses are the officers. There will be no meeting in January.

Mahoning Retired Teachers Association will meet Dec. 14 at Antone’s Banquet Center, 8578 Market St., Boardman. The social starts at 11 a.m., and lunch is at 11:45. Entertainment will be provided by the Boardman High School Jazz Band. The director of the Salvation Army will be in attendance to accept monetary donations. Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Ruby Farkas will give the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. Police & Fire Retirees of Ohio, District 2-Chapter 10 (Mahoning and Columbiana counties) will have its annual Christmas party at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Brandywine Clubhouse, 3390 Flo-Lor Drive, Youngstown. Members are asked to take a covered casserole dish, but no desserts. In lieu of a gift exchange, members are asked to take nonholiday coloring books, small boxes of crayons, colored pencils or playing cards. These items will be donated to Akron Children’s Hospital, Boardman Campus, as part of the “Coloring Books for Kids” campaign. A short meeting will take place before the party. All retirees and DROP participants of the Ohio Police and Fire Disability and Pension Fund living in Mahoning and Columbiana counties, along with their spouses or survivors, are welcome. SOAR 27-2 and 27-6, Steelworkers Retirees of Local Union 1330 and 1331, will meet at 1 p.m. Monday at Austintown Eagles Club, 1655 S. Raccoon Road, for their annual Christmas party. Advance reservations are required. Members are reminded to take cookies for a cookie table.

St. Joseph Goldenagers will meet for an annual Christmas luncheon at 11:15 a.m. Thursday at Lucianno’s Restaurant in the Wedgwood Plaza, Raccoon Road, Austintown. The next meeting will take place in March.

St. Nicholas Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Dec. 13 in the Great Hall for a Christmas luncheon meeting with LaVerne Cox presiding. Reservations are required and can be made until Wednesday.
