Open house to mark Brandts’ 50th anniversary

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Bill and Kathy Brandt of New Middletown will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 18. A cake and punch open house starting at 4 p.m. at Free Methodist Community Church will be hosted by the couple’s children and their families.

Mrs. Brandt, who is the former Kathy Douglas, and Mr. Brandt were married Dec. 16, 1961, at Bethel United Presbyterian Church in Enon Valley, Pa.

The Brandts are the parents of Lisa (Darrell) Arms of Kileen, Texas; Lori (Clint) Scroggs of Canton; Julie (Sam) Sargent of Campbell; and Joni (Morgan) Douglas of Akron. The family includes 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Brandt retired in 2002 from Quality Rolls in New Castle, Pa. He served with the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960, and in 1961.

Mrs. Brandt retired in 2007. She was employed in the shipping department at Bike Nashbar in Canfield.

The couple are members of Free Methodist.
