A state office says Ohio is taking in more money than expected while spending less than what was projected under a state budget passed earlier this year.
The Dayton Daily News reports Ohio Office of Management and Budget numbers show the state has taken in $96 million more in taxes than what was estimated in the budget that took effect July 1.
Meanwhile, the Ohio has spent $268 million less than projected out of the fund used to pay for most operations of the state.
However, the budget office says changes in Medicaid payments have delayed state expenditures, which could catch up.
A report by the National Governors Association and the National Association of State Budget Officers finds that overall states are struggling in their search for money.
