Doctorate

Degree in genetics

Nicole Spahich, formerly of Berlin Center, received her doctoral degree in genetics and genomics from Duke University in late November.

Dr. Spahich graduated from Western Reserve High School in Berlin Center in 2001 and earned her undergraduate degree from Ohio State University in 2005.

She will continue to pursue her genetics research at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, N.C.

Spahich, now living in Durham, N.C., is the daughter of George and Josephine Spahich of Bedell Road, Berlin Center.
