Larry the Cable Guy show is canceled

Saturday’s comedy concert by Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy at the Wolstein Center has been canceled. To obtain a refund, those who bought tickets with cash at the box office must bring their tickets to the Wolstein Center Box Office. The box office is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Rock band is part of ‘cool song’ contest

YOUNGSTOWN

A song by Youngstown-based rock band The Deadbeat Poets is in the running for the Coolest Song in the World contest, sponsored by Little Steven’s Underground Garage, a rock’n’roll radio show. “The Man with the X-Ray Eyes” is among a group of 52 songs in the online, fan-voting contest.

Little Steven’s Underground Garage is a nationally syndicated radio show hosted by Steven Van Zandt, guitarist for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band.

The five finalists in the 2011 Grammy Awards for the Pop Instrumental Album category are “Wish Upon A Star” by Jenny Oaks Baker; “E Kahe Malie” by Daniel Ho; “The Road from Memphis” by Booker T. Jones; “Hello Tomorrow” by Dave Koz; and “Setzer Goes Instru-Mental!” by Brian Setzer.

“Pour Mon Pere” by Campbell, Ohio, resident Deno Frangopoulos was among the 119 nominees. The winner will be revealed Feb. 12.
