Cleveland State 45, Wright State 43

Ursuline High graduate D’Aundray Brown tipped in a missed shot with 0.3 seconds left to lift Cleveland State in the Horizon League opener for both teams. Cole Darling of Wright State (3-4) tied the game at 43-43 with just over a minute to play when he split a pair of free throws. After a Raider stop on the other end, the Vikings (7-1) forced a backcourt violation on WSU, getting the ball back with 27 seconds left. Following a timeout, CSU ran the clock down to about eight seconds before Montgomery made his move to the basket through the lane. His left-handed shot rattled around the rim and Brown came in from the right side to tip in the game-winner.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee 59, Loyola of Chicago 41

MILWAUKEE

Ryan Allen scored 14 points, Kyle Kelm added 13, and Wisconsin-Milwaukee rolled in the Horizon League opener for both teams. Kaylon Williams had 12 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals for the Panthers (6-1), who led by only four at halftime before running away with the game in the second half. Walt Gibler scored 13 for the Ramblers (1-5).

Green Bay 71, UIC 68

GREEN BAY, WIS.

Alec Brown scored 16 points and Green Bay (2-4, 1-0) finished the game on a 6-2 run. Daniel Barnes and Gary Talton combined to score 31 points for UIC (2-4, 0-1).

Kent State 83, Morehead State 63

KENT

Justin Manns scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds in just 17 minutes of playing time to help Kent State (4-1). Morehead State (3-5) tied the game 24-all with a Terrance Hill 3-pointer, but Kent State used an 8-4 run to take a 36-28 lead into halftime. The run continued as Kent State scored the first six points of the second half.

Colgate 74, Eastern Michigan 70

HAMILTON, N.Y.

Mike Venezia scored 19 points and Colgate overcame 37 points by Eastern Michigan’s Darrell Lampley.
