Two schools offer shoppers crafty gift ideas this weekend.

The senior class of Canfield High School and Ursuline Preschool and Kindergarten each will host its 23rd annual craft show.

More than 240 vendors will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the high school, and more than 100 vendors will be at The Ursuline Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission and parking are free for the shows. Shuttles to the high school’s show will be available from overflow lots at the district’s middle school and St. Michael Church, 300 N. Broad St.

“It’s kind of crazy,” said Anthony Holben, senior class adviser. “Its been estimated that we get 3,000 in foot traffic.”

The show is predominately a craft show, but a few things such as Scentsy and Avon make it in, Holben said.

The students put the money raised toward graduation, a charity of their choice and to leave a gift for the school. In the past, the school has received display cases, rugs and printers.

Parents of seniors will operate a concession stand and auctions. Prizes include a flat-screen TV and $500 gift certificates to Komara Jewelers. Visitors are advised to leave strollers at home.

Holben said he thinks having the two shows run at the same time helps draw more people.

Joyce Buzzacco, secretary at the Ursuline Preschool and Kindergarten, said its craft show always has run side-by-side with the high school’s.

The Once Upon a Christmas craft show will feature a bake sale, 50/50 drawing and raffles.
