Sabrina Mangapora scored 18 points to lead Canfield (1-1), which was outscored 28-15 over the second and third quarters. The Cardinals also made just 19 of 52 from the field (37 percent) and had 26 turnovers, although they did hold a 36-28 edge in rebounds. For Louisville (2-0), Brianna Libertore had 15 points, Mackenzie Storlie scored 13 and Clara Lemmon had 10 points.

Rebekah Zets scored 13 points and Amanda Linhart added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Warriors (1-0, 1-0 Northeastern Buckeye Conference) in their season opener. Melinda Trimmer finished with eight points and eight assists, and Niki Carlton scored nine points. Braxton Harris led Alliance (0-2, 0-1) with five points.

Ruth Prosko and 13 points, 16 rebounds and six assists as United won for the first time at Salem. Prosko had only one field goal but made 11 free throws. Sam Spitler added 12 points for the Eagles (2-0). Katherine Stiff scored 10 points with four rebounds for Salem (0-2).
