Warren man fires gun in city, not charged

WARREN — A 39-year-old Washington Street Northeast man said he fired his gun into the air at 1:50 a.m. Sunday to stop several young people from assaulting someone on his street.

Police were chasing several young people south on North Park Avenue who had gotten into an argument at a nearby party when they heard the gunshot.

Four juveniles and an 18-year-old were apprehended and charged with offenses such as carrying a concealed weapon for having brass knuckles, curfew violations and obstructing official business.

As of today, however, no charges had been filed in Warren Municipal Court against the 18-year-old or the man who fired the gun.
