Aug. 25

Police dog: A police dog sniffed cookies with suspected marijuana in them to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol at 500 S. Broad St. The dog, Thor, detected a suspicious odor in the men’s locker room at the OSP office, where the contraband had been stored. The suspected contraband was to be sent out for testing at a lab.

Aug. 27

Solicitation: Lucius Coleman, 18, of 1500 Russell Drive, Streetsboro was cited for lack of a peddler’s license in the 200 block of Deer Trail Ave. He was going door-to-door to sell magazines when police were advised by a concerned citizen about it.

Aug. 22

Warrant: Robert Kurian, Jr., 51, of 2602 Birchwood Drive, was arrested on a warrant for misuse of a debit card which was left at a bank and picked up by the suspect, who charged $415 in purchases and caused $114 insufficient funds fees.

Warrant: Jamie Allen, 19, of 2550 S. Raccoon Road Apt. 3 was arrested on a warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Criminal damaging: A window was broken out at Lynn Kirk School, 4211 Evelyn Road.

Felonious assault: An employee was struck in the head intentionally with a crane by another employee at Comprehensive Logistics, 365 Victoria Road.

Theft: Soda was stolen from the rear of the building at Walrus Subs, 1305 S. Raccoon Road.

Telecommunications harassment: Numerous calls were made to a home in the 200 block of N. Edgehill Ave.

Burglary: An attached garage was entered at a home in the 3000 block of Monaca Avenue.

Theft: A purse was stolen at the Go-Go Cabaret, 5455 Clarkins Drive.

Telecommunications harassment: A suspect is accused of making harassing calls to a home in the 3000 block of Cannon.

Criminal damaging: Vinyl siding was spray-painted at a home in the 100 block of S. Turner Road, next to the bike trail.

Criminal damaging: The rear window of an Acura was broken out with a rock and the front window of a Monte Carlo was broken out and egged at a home in the 4000 block of S. Warwick Drive.

Theft: A 17-year-old juvenile stole ping-pong balls at Kmart, 4471 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged with paint and eggs at a home in the 2000 block of Frostwood Drive.

Criminal damaging:A vehicle was damaged at a home in the 50 block of Westminister Ave.

Transient vender violation: Samuel Kent, 24, of 4247 Coolidge Ave., Lincoln Park, Michigan was issued a summons for magazine sales with no permit in the 1000 block of Wood-ledge Drive.

Attempted breaking and entering: Damage was done to a dead bolt but no entry was gained at Famous Hair, 1698 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: James Cox, 22, of 79 Indianola Ave., Boardman was issued a summons for theft of $60.97 of merchandise at Kmart.

Warrant: Brad Wilson, 29, of 4055 South Ave., Lot 140, Youngstown was arrested on a warrant for receiving stolen property.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted text messages were received at a home in the 1000 block of Old Farm Trail.

Criminal damaging: Two laptop computers were damaged at an apartment in the 4000 block of New Hampshire Court.

Aggravated menacing: An unknown male threatened to kill everyone at the bank at Woodforest Bank, 6001 Mahoning Ave., calling in two days in a row.

Warrant: Kyle Sheridan, 19, of 622 Notre Dame Ave. was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear to reinstate his Ohio driver’s license.

Attempted theft: A catalytic converter was cut on an auto at a home in the 60 block of Westminister Ave.

Fraud: Unauthorized transactions were reported at a home in the 5000 block of Cider MiIl Crossing.

Drug offense: Marijuana plants, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were recovered from an apartment in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court. The tenant said they belonged to her ex-boyfriend who is moving out.

Theft: $59.89 in fuel was stolen at Country Fair, 1143 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Menacing: An employer threatened an ex-employee at Belleria Pizza, 3460 S. Meridian Road.

Theft: A generator was stolen from an auto at the Hampton Inn, 880 N.Niles-Canfield Road.

Assault: A woman claims to have been struck at the Hampton Inn, 880 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Lost or stolen plate: Jamie Wetzl, 27, of 9220 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson was arrested in connection with theft of her sister’s license plate.

Warrant: Alphonso West,42, of 1644 Manhattan St., Youngstown was arrested on a warrant for theft, and was also charged with drug abuse of marijuana at Mahoning Ave. and Meridian Road.

Assault: Two suspects fled in a white Ford after an assault at the Babylon, 114 Javit Court.

Theft: Money was taken and an employee was involved at McDonald’s, 1150 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Theft: Kayla Cramer, 18, of 3808 Cannon Road was arrested in the theft of women’s shirts valued at $40.57 at Dots, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: An iPhone was stolen from an auto at Marc’s, 4755 Mahoning Ave.

Recovered property: A bicycle was stolen from a home in the 3000 block of Frederick Street.

Criminal damaging: A window was broken at a home in the 4000 block of New Hampshire Court.

Liquor violation: John Arcuri, 28, of 2922 Warren Ave., McDonald was charged with possession of an open container, a bottle of beer, in the 3000 block of Oakwood Ave.

Aug. 26

Recovered property: An Ohio license was recovered at Pilot, 1150 N.Niles-Canfield Road.

Recovered property: A GPS was recovered in the 5000 block of New Road.

Domestic violence: Lisa Zalner,, 36, of 874 E. Lucius Ave.,Youngstown was arrested for criminal trespassing and Randall Aliff, 55, of 131 N. Kimberly No. 61 was arrested for domestic violence at an apartment in the 100 block of N. Kimberly Ave.

Theft: A debit card was left at the ATM and $100 was taken at Home Savings and Loan, 4259 Kirk Road.

Burglary: 125 feet of copper pipe was taken from a home in the 900 block of Collins Street. There were no signs of forced entry.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle mirror was damaged at a home in the 3000 block of Oakwood Avenue.

Aug. 27

Drug offense: James Tibella, 32, of 7815 Canfield-Akron Road, was arrested for marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia and Jacob Kuzan, 25, 1005 Compass West, Apt. 4, was arrested for possession of marijuana at the Comfort Inn, 5425 Clarkins Drive.

Drug offense: Tyler Stevens, 18, of 144 N. Navarre Ave., was issued a summons for possession of marijuana at St. Elizabeth’s, 6252 Mahoning Ave.

Drug offense: Nick Stipcianos, 20, of 3837 Oakleigh Ave., was issued a summons for possession of marijuana at Mahoning Ave. and Raccoon Road.

Warrant: Brandon Blanchard, 24, of 4481 Deer Creek Court, No. 2 was arrested on a warrant for misuse of a credit card.

Telecommunications harassment: A suspect is accused of making harassing phone calls to a home in the 3000 block of Frederick Street.

Theft: A Blackberry, charger and MP3 wire were stolen from an auto in the 4000 block of New Road.

Theft: Medication was stolen from a home in the 50 block of Idaho Road.

Aug. 28

Domestic violence: Andrew Vick, 32, of 3091/2 N. Four Mile Run Road, was arrested on a domestic violence charge.

Domestic violence: A 15-year-old male was arrested on a felonious assault and domestic violence charge at 4566 Woodhurst Drive, and taken to the juvenile justice center.

Burglary: $6,000 in cash, jewelry and a silencer were stolen from a home in the 3000 block of Avalon Court.

Theft: Three laptops and $740 in cash were stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

Lost or stolen wallet: A wallet and contents was lost or stolen at Pilot, 1150 N.Canfield-Niles Road.

Aggravated robbery: Tyler Stevens,18, of 14 N. Navarre Ave., was arrested for attempting to rob Huntington Bank, 5220 Mahoning Ave. with his finger. He said he was kidding.

Breaking and entering: Copper was stolen from a home in the 3000 block of Black Oak Lane.

Theft: A bicycle was stolen at the Austintown Plaza, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Domestic violence: Edward Ehrhart, 44, of 2382 Penny Lane, and James Ehrhart, 37, same address, were arrested on domestic violence charges.
