Nominations are sought for Volunteer Network Awards
HandsOn Volunteer Network of the Valley is calling for nominations for the HandsOn Volunteer Network Award.
The award was established in 2004 to recognize extraordinary efforts of local volunteers, and to provide an opportunity for local organizations, the public and volunteers to nominate an individual or group of people who show exceptional commitment to community and social improvement.
Nominees will be judged by a panel of community volunteers, and the awards will be presented during the HandsOn Network Volunteer of the Valley Celebration Nov. 10. Details will be announced at a later date.
Awards will be given in these categories:
Individual: One volunteer or couple exemplifying a strong volunteer ethic.
Youth: A high-school-aged student for exemplary volunteerism benefiting the Mahoning Valley, or who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in promoting volunteerism.
Group: A group of three or more adults, youths, or both, engaged in ongoing and outstanding volunteer service benefiting the Mahoning Valley.
The Virginia Leskanic RSVP Navigator Award: Open to those RSVP Lead With Experience volunteers in good standing and serving in high impact placements.
The HandsOn Corporate Partner Award: Chosen by the board and staff of HandsOn Volunteer Network and presented to an organization with a distinguished service record and a corporate philosophy of giving back to the community.
Nominations must be received no later than Sept. 21. For more information or to obtain nomination forms, contact HOVN at 330-782-5877 or email info@hovn.org.
