CARD, BINGO PARTIES

Rodef Sholom Sisterhood , will have its seventh annual community card party and brunch at 11 a.m. Sept. 8 in Strouss Hall, 1119 Elm St., Youngstown. A cost of $11 per person includes brunch. First United Methodist Church of Andover’s United Methodist Women are sponsoring an Arts and Crafts Fair on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, at the Ashtabula County Antique Engine Club’s grounds at 4026 state Route 322 in Wayne, Ohio, 31/2 miles southwest of Andover. FESTIVALS/FAIRS

William Penn Fraternal Association is sponsoring its annual end-of-the-summer fest Sept. 17 at Scenic View Park, Rockwood, Pa. The event begins at noon and ends about 6 p.m. In conjunction with this all-day event, the WPA will celebrate its 125th anniversary. A special performance by the RAJKO ensemble from Budapest, Hungary, will be given. A 46-seat bus has been chartered by Youngstown Branch 28 of William Penn. The bus will depart from Boardman Red Lobster at 8 a.m. and arrive back in Youngstown about 10 p.m. The cost for the bus trip is $35 per person, which includes transportation and admission. FLEA MARKETS

Salem Memorial Building Association is hosting its annual indoor fall yard sale/flea market from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 24 in the gym. Eight-foot tables with chairs can be reserved for $10 per table. Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Drive, Boardman, will have a No Trash, Just Treasure Sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 9 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 10 at the church. A $2 bag sale will start at 11 a.m. Sept. 10.

Immaculate Heart of Mary will have a Treasures in Your Trunk Sale, sponsored by its Social Concerns Group, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 10. The sale will take place in the church parking lot, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown. Vendor spaces are available for early registration at $10, but they must be received by Sept. 8. Vendors may register for $15 the day of the sale. No refunds will be given for any reason. Take your own table (up to 8 feet) for setting up in front of your trunk. There will be a sale of homemade baked goods, food and beverages. A used book and media sale will take place in the parish center at the same time. Youngstown American-Hungarian Club will have its 26th annual Hungarian Heritage Day from 1 to 6 p.m. Sept. 11 at the clubhouse, 2219 Donald Ave., Youngstown. Authentic Hungarian folk art, music and food, including Hungarian goulash, stuffed cabbage, stuffed peppers, chicken dinners, haluski, kielbasa and sauerkraut and various pastries, including crepes and dobos torta, will be available. A boutique will be stocked with Hungarian preserves, spices, noodles, clothing, books, cards and more. The Hungarians of Cleveland will be playing both American and Hungarian favorites. Butler Institute of American Art has planned a four-day, three-night bus trip to Chicago from Oct. 27 through 30. Participants will stay at The Palmer House, located in the heart of the city, nicknamed “The Loop.” The tour will include a visit to the residence and studio of Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) and several of the prairie-style residences that he designed, and stops at the Madron Gallery and The Art Institute.
