Brookfield man dies in motorcycle crash

A 40-year-old man died early Saturday after he lost control of his motorcycle and slammed into a utility pole.

Joseph Whitacre of Brookfield was northbound on Standard Avenue when he failed to turn at a bend in the road, state police said.

Whitacre was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown where he was pronounced dead, state police said.

State police continue to investigate what caused Whitacre to lose control of his motorcycle.
