The students headed to the elementary, middle and high school in the Poland school district are enjoying about two more weeks of summer before they return to school on Sept. 4.

However, Holy Family School in Poland began its year Wednesday and have found a student body already excited about the possibilities of a new school year.

Eighth-grader Nick Braydich began his last year at Holy Family School.

“It’s a lot of mixed emotions. First, I didn’t want it to be the end, but now I’m excited about everything I can do while I’m still here,” Braydich shared.

Braydich hopes to get all As and take a leadership role in student council before heading to Cardinal Mooney High School next year.

Transfer students Veronica Brown and Alayna Cruciger, in second and fifth grade, respectively, were already close before their move to Holy Family, but aren’t using that as a reason not to make new acquaintances.

“I’m excited to learn new stuff and make new friends,” Brown shared.

“I love to sing and I think joining choir this year will be really fun,” Cruciger added.
