The third annual Breast Cancer Benefit Reunion Concert is at W.D. Packard Music Hall in Warren on Sept. 4 from 7 p.m. to midnight, and the companion BBQ Blues Jam Benefit will be at Up A Creek in Howland on Sept. 3 from 1 to 9 p.m.

The benefits, hosted and organized by Tommy McCoy, have raised approximately $10,000 for the TMH Foundation Oncology fund over the past two years. This year’s events will feature a reunion of local music pioneers that contributed to the area’s music history.

Admission is $10 at the door for either Saturday or Sunday or $15 for both events paid at the door at Up A Creek or in advance at Packard Music Hall box-office. For more information, call McCoy at 727-403-9354.

Open house

The Child Development Center at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, is having an open house Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. for families interested in learning more about the CDC. Current CDC families are invited to come and meet their child’s teacher. The Child Development Center, which serves infants through school-age children, received a Quality Star 3 rating, the highest quality rating available. Light refreshments will be served.

Program deadline

The deadline to apply for the Summer Crisis Program offered through the Trumbull Community Action Program, 1230 Palmyra Road SW, is Wednesday. The agency is offering two walk-in days to assist those who were unable to schedule an appointment and are still need of an air-conditioning unit and/or payment on their electric bill. The walk-in days are 8 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday when the first 20 people in line will be seen. After 12:30 p.m., everyone who comes in before 2:30 p.m. will be seen.

Required documentation includes: photo ID, Social Security cards for all household members, the last 13 weeks’ income for all household members, utility bill or fuel receipt, and proof of disability for applicants under 60. Humility of Mary Health Partners registered dietitians certified in weight management will begin adult and children’s programs in September.

“SlimDown for Adults,” a six-week program, will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Sept. 6 through Oct. 11, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center, 5401 Market Street, Boardman; and on Thursdays, Sept. 8 to Oct. 13, at St. Joe’s at the Mall, Eastwood Mall, Niles. The cost is $40 for new participants and $20 for repeat participants.

“Go for It! for Children,” a collaborative program of HMHP dietitians and the D.D. and Velma Davis Family YMCA in Boardman, is for children 9 to 12. It offers nutrition counseling and fitness training. Parents participate in the program that runs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Sept. 12 to Oct. 19, at the Davis Family YMCA, 45 McClurg Road, Boardman.
