Bethel Lutheran Church awards scholarships to 12

BOARDMAN

Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Drive, awarded $10,800 in educational assistance to 12 college students at the July 24 service.

The scholarships came from the church’s endowment fund and the Mickey Schuster Scholarship Fund.

Recipients, their school affiliations and degrees being pursued are:

Lauren Adair, Youngs- town State University, psychology.

Sara Adair, University of Akron, social work.

Jared Buker, YSU, journalism.

Ann DeChellis, Capital University, nursing.

Matthew Gleydura, YSU, communications.

Joshua Midgley, Miami University of Ohio, business/finance.

Paige Rassega, YSU, business marketing.

Peter J. Rassega, YSU, business economics.

Nicholas Rusinowski, YSU, accounting.

Kelby Thoreson, YSU, civil engineering.

Jaclyn Weaver, YSU, physical/health education.

Elizabeth Wiesner, Ohio State University, fashion/retail.

The congregation also completed full tuition for Jonathan Weaver, who graduated from Trinity Lutheran Seminary. He will be ordained Sept. 10 and will serve as associate minister at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Chagrin Falls.
