The American Red Cross of the Mahoning Valley is offering an Adult CPR class today from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at its central office at 661 Mahoning Ave. NW.

The course fee is $70, which includes use of all materials needed to complete the training and a two-year certification upon successful completion. Because of a senior-levy grant, Trumbull County residents over age 60 can attend this training for free. Seniors are not required to meet certification standards and can attend without taking part in testing or any physical activities.

STEAM open house

STEAM Academy of Youngstown will host an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the school, 810 Oak St.

Parents and the community are invited to see improvements to the building and to meet with teachers, board members and other staff. There will be light refreshments at the open house.

Feed The Children

Today, Feed The Children will deliver a tractor-trailer full of food and essentials to Life Skills Center of Youngstown & Southside Academy, 1833 Market St. Distribution to students and their families will begin at 3 p.m.

The distribution is sponsored by Life Skills Center of Youngstown & Southside Academy, managed by White Hat Management, which operates 46 public chartered schools in six states.

Life Skills Center of Youngstown & Southside Academy has identified the recipient families. Each family will receive a 25-pound box of food and a 10-pound box of personal-care items. The boxes are designed to help a family of four for up to one week.
