Rotary seeks professionals for Slovenia exchange


Rotary Clubs of Northwestern Pennsylvania is seeking four outstanding professionals to visit Slovenia May 25 to June 22, 2012, as part of a Rotary Foundation Group Study Exchange Program.

Applicants must be between 25 and 40 years of age at the time of the trip. The team will be accompanied by a Rotarian Team Leader.

The team will be hosted by Rotary Districts in Slovenia and will participate in group tours of Slovenian business and industry as well as facilities such as government offices, schools and recreational sites. Each team member would be expected to spend five days in activities related to his or her profession.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and must live or work within the Rotary District (Cranberry Township/Mars north to Erie and from the Ohio line east to Dubois or Leechburg). They must currently be employed full-time in a recognized business or profession, and be in good health. Relatives of Rotary members are not eligible.

Applicants also will be expected to learn the native language of Slovenia, although English is widely spoken.

The trip is the outbound portion of a Group Study Exchange between Rotary Districts in the two countries. A team from Slovenia will be hosted in Western Pennsylvania during May.

The Group Study Exchange aims to promote international understanding and goodwill through person-to-person contact.
