Qualifying: The Trumbull County native finished 33rd in Sunday’s Sprint Cup race in Brooklyn, Mich. He completed 198 laps and earned $73,525.

Season to date: Before the race, Blaney was 32nd in the Sprint Cup Series standings, with 303 points. He was 12 points behind Casey Mears.

Next: The Sprint Cup returns to the short track at Bristol, Tenn., for Saturday night’s race.
