COLUMBIANA

An amateur photo contest is being sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 16 as part of the Columbiana Street Fair from Sept. 8 to 10.

The annual contest includes four categories for people age 14 and up. The open category takes submissions of any kind and there also are separate categories for photos of animals and people. “I Love This Town” is another category in which judges look for photos that capture Columbiana’s history of buildings, churches, events and activities.

First-, second- and third-place prizes will be awarded in each category. First-place winners will receive a ribbon, plaque and $25 Walmart gift card. A ribbon and a $15 Walmart gift card will go to second-place winners. Third-place winners will get a ribbon. Fairgoers will have a chance to vote for the “People’s Choice” winner, who will receive a ribbon and $25 Walmart gift card.

Children under 14 have a chance to win the same first-, second- and third-place prizes for an open category that allows submissions of any subject matter. Another category for computer-enhanced photos is open to people of all ages. A ribbon and plaque will be awarded to the winner.

The entry fee is $4 and entry forms can be requested by emailing StreetFairPhotos@aol.com.

They also can be picked up at libraries and at Farmer’s National Bank in both Columbiana and Leetonia; the Columbiana Chamber of Commerce; and Photographically Yours, Huntington Bank, Home Savings & Loan and First United Methodist Church, all in Columbiana. For more information, call 330-360-3313.
