Coach Greg Maurer instructed his station on dribbling during the soccer association's recent skills clinic.

With the fall season approaching, teams competing in the Poland Youth Soccer Association season began practicing Aug. 1.

This season will mark the 30th anniversary of the youth soccer association. Almost 800 children and teens from around the Valley are signed up to participate in the league this fall.

The week of August 8 brought in the youth skills clinic. It was held Monday August 8th through Thursday August 11th. The organization recently hosted its third annual clinic, with the help of PYSA board members and led by Greg Maurer. The clinic is open to both boys and girls ages 5-6 in the U-7 age group and ages 7-8 in the U-9 age group. Each of the four days offered a 75-minute clinic.

The clinic consisted of multiple rotating stations to help teach basic soccer drills in a fun manner. One station had a scrimmage. Another station had a game of red light/green light going on to instill basic dribbling skills where the group also played a game of sharks and minnows to continue dribbling exercises.
