Send fall sports news to Neighbors

The fall sports season has already started and Neighbors wants to be part of your successes this year.

Coaches and parents should email game recaps, stats and photos to neighbors@vindy.com for publication. In order for us to print the latest results, please send information within 48 hours of the game. We’re looking to feature all fall sports - football, soccer, cross country, tennis, golf and volleyball.

We’ll kick off our Neighbors Blitz football pages in the coming weeks, as results from junior varsity, freshman, middle school and youth football games start coming in.

Neighbors looks forward to showcasing your young athletes.

Fitch golfers handle Niles

Five Fitch boys golfers shot under 43, as the squad defeated Niles 165-226 on Monday.

Matt Matasy led the Falcons with a 40. Cameron Gumble carded a 41, while Adam Catauro, Vince Goleno and Brian Basista each turned in 42s.

Little Falcons football still accepting players

The Austintown Little Falcons still have roster spots open for 7 and 8-year-olds interested in football. Every player will get playing time and there is no residency rule.

Fitch boys golf team takes on Struthers

The Fitch boys varisty golf team lost to Struthers 173-179 on Aug. 12. The Falcons were led by Vince Goleno, who shot a team-best 43. Others scoring for Austintown were Adam Catauro (45), Pat Rovnak (45), Matt Matasy (46) and Dom Ignazio (46). The Fitch boys junior varsity team beat Struthers 194-215.

Fitch boys golf team loses to Howland

The Fitch boys golf team lost to Howland 173-177 on Aug. 10. The Falcons were led by Adam Catauro, who shot a team-best 41. Others scoring for Austintown were Brian Basista (44), Matt Matasy (45) and Pat Rovnak (47). The team is coached by Ed Santor.

Fitch football tickets on sale

Individual ticket prices for the 2011 season are $7 reserved, $6 general admission and $4 student (presale only).

Those interested may also mail a season ticket request form with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to 4560 Falcon Drive, Austintown, OH 44515 and your tickets directly to you.

Season tickets on sale for YSU football

Youngstown State football season tickets are on sale.

General admission seats are located in sections 1 and 7 of the west stands.

YSU plays six home games this fall with the opener on Sept. 10.
