The trial of a man charged with killing an Ohio schoolgirl in 1967 is drawing to a close after prosecutors and defense attorneys concluded their cases.

The Blade of Toledo reports that both sides concluded their cases Friday in 75-year-old Robert Bowman’s trial in a Toledo courtroom without testimony from Bowman. Closing arguments are expected Monday.

Bowman is charged with murder in the death of 14-year-old Eileen Adams, who disappeared on her way home from school. Investigators believe Bowman kidnapped the girl and killed her. Her body was found Jan. 30, 1968, in a field.

Bowman was arrested near Palm Springs, Calif., in 2008, after authorities said new DNA evidence connected him with the killing.

Bowman has pleaded not guilty and faces life in prison if he’s convicted.
