Man charged with arson, domestic violence

A 50-year-old city man is accused of lighting his Browning Avenue house on fire while his girlfriend was in it. Firefighters and police were called to the home about 11:50 p.m. Thursday. Reports state they found a woman in the house who said Dennis Ray was exhibiting signs of mental illness and accused her of wrongdoing before he began trying to ignite the house. Officers saw the carpet and bathroom walls had burn marks and smoke upstairs, where they found Ray and charged him with aggravated arson and domestic violence, according to reports.
