Democrats are taking a beating
Well, the Democrats took another right cross to the chin. The Republicans got away with murder on this debt ceiling vaudeville show. All of their millionaire and billionaire buddies don’t have to kick in a dime toward lowering the deficit and that pretty much insures that the Republican campaign coffers will be overflowing.
They knew that they couldn’t get away with cutting and gutting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, but they rode it to the end to satisfy the Tea Party. Now, when re-election rolls around they will brag about how these programs weren’t touched, but you know they will get around to destroying them in the name of deficit reduction.
It’s all about playing politics. They want Obama out of office so bad they can taste it. Mitch McConnell says that this is their top priority. He should have finished that statement with “and if it takes lying, cheating, or opposing everything he tried to accomplish we will do it.”
The other item is this super committee that both parties agreed to. I looked at it and it doesn’t make sense to me because anything that is proposed and agreed to by the committee has to go through the House and Senate. If it clears the Republican controlled House it will never pass the Democrat controlled Senate, and vice versa.
From what I understand,if the committees recommendations can’t be settled in Congress then some cuts kick in automatically. That’s a right cross and a left hook to the Democrats’ chin.
