Youngstown women indicted on attempted murder, assault charges

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County grand jury has indicted three Brooklyn Avenue women on felony charges pertaining to a July 24 confrontation in what police said was a feud with three other women.

Two of the defendants indicted today, Rayshawnda Clark, 20, and her mother, Shalena Clark, 38, are charged with two counts of attempted murder for assaults they allegedly committed against two women.

The Clarks are also charged with three counts of felonious assault, alleging they used a variety of weapons against three different women, including a firearm, scissors, a table leg and pots and pans. All charges against the Clarks carry firearm specifications.

Darlesha Jones, 19, is charged with felonious assault for allegedly hitting a woman with pots and pans.

Each attempted murder count carries three to 10 years in prison upon conviction.

Each felonious assault count carries a possible two-to-eight-year prison term upon conviction.

Conviction on any of the firearm specifications would add a mandatory consecutive three years to any prison term for any offense to which they are attached.
