Penn State-Shenango begins classes Monday


SHARON, Pa. — Penn State Shenango will begin its 46th year in the Shenango Valley when it opens its doors on Monday.

 More than 100 new students participated in the campus' New Student Orientation program today. New students, orientation leaders, and several faculty and staff participated in various community-service projects, including packing groceries and back packs at The Prince of Peace Center, painting at the Chavers Community Center (YMCA) in Farrell, organizing bookshelves at the Farrell Nevant Public Library, working with local high school students to mulch trees at Buhl Park, and painting at the Children's Center of Mercer County.

A dance-party cruise on the Gateway Clipper for new students will be Friday, and a Back-To-School Bash for all students next Wednesday.
