Alzheimer's chapter thanks store employees

Thanks for remembering: Helen Paes, left, of the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater East Ohio Area Chapter, and Sam Morroco, second row, and Kimberly Tonkovich, right, both of Banker’s Life and Casualty, recently stopped by the Lincoln Knolls Plaza’s Save-A-Lot store to thank the staff, including, in aprons, from left, Mary Ellen Filer, Les Hawkins, Judy Smeltzer and Rob Yurko, store manager, for their efforts during the ninth annual Forget-Me-Not Days. During the two-day event, May 13-14, Bankers employees and volunteers collected donations and handed out forget-me-not seeds, and cashiers at eight Save-A-Lot stores and IGA Supermarkets owned by Henry Nemenz, and two Save-A-Lots owner by Richard Stacey, sold paper forget-me-nots. More than $5,000 was presented to the local Alzheimer’s chapter. The national Association operates a toll-free nationwide helpline for families and caregivers, 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1-800-272-3900.
