Ultralight crashes in NE Pa., pilot injured

RANSOM, Pa. (AP) — Emergency officials in northeastern Pennsylvania say an ultralight aircraft has crashed and the pilot has been taken to a hospital.

Officials in Lackawanna County say the single-person craft went down just after 6 p.m. this evening in a sparsely wooded area of Ransom Township.

Authorities said the pilot was taken to Community Medical Center in Scranton, where an official declined comment about the extent of the person’s injuries.

There was no immediate information about where the ultralight had come from and where it was going.
