NORTH LIMA

The Ohio Department of Transportation said traffic patterns will be changed today until further notice at the intersection of state Route 7 (Market Street), state Route 626 and Western Reserve Road in Beaver Township.

ODOT said Route 7 northbound will be reduced to one lane. The right lane will be closed.

The Western Reserve Road westbound turn lane to Route 7 will be closed until near the end of this month. That lane will now become the eastbound through lane to Western Reserve.

The old Route 626 will be permanently closed at Route 7 and Western Reserve. Access to businesses and residential properties will be maintained with the opening of the relocated Route 626.

Woman dies

Boardman

A woman who was struck by a car Sunday night while trying to cross South Avenue died Tuesday.

Chi-Ya Zhen, 22, of 1501 Chelsea Court, walked onto the avenue by Sam’s Club wearing dark clothing when the car hit her, police said. Zhen was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown where she died.

There are no charges filed, but police are still investigating.

Fire at Joy Cone Co.

A fire at the Joy Cone Co. at 3435 Lamore Road started after a hot product ignited inside a hopper on the production line, the Hermitage Volunteer Fire Department said.

The fire started at 8:05 p.m. Monday, and the fire department cleared the scene by 10:15 p.m. There were no injuries.
