Ohio wildlife agent accused of falsifying license
CINCINNATI (AP) — An Ohio Department of Natural Resources wildlife officer has been indicted in federal court on allegations that he helped a South Carolina hunter illegally obtain an Ohio-resident deer license.
State and federal authorities say 45-year-old Allan Wright of Russellville was charged today in Cincinnati with trafficking in and making false records for illegally harvested white-tailed deer. Investigators say the license was used to kill three white-tailed deer in 2006.
He also is accused of improperly giving someone in Michigan white-tailed deer antlers he seized from a hunter in 2009, and lying about his actions on a state form.
The Ohio DNR says Wright is being placed on unpaid administrative leave.
