Man’s body recovered from S.W. Pa. river


CONNELLSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — The body of a man presumed drowned has been recovered from a southwestern Pennsylvania river.

Emergency workers pulled the body from the Youghiogheny River in Connellsville on Tuesday night.

Connellsville Police Chief James Capitos says officials believe the man in his mid-20s was trying to swim across the river but didn’t make it.

The man’s name was not released pending notification of his family.

An autopsy is scheduled for today.
