Sugarland plans memorial for 5

Country duo Sugarland says it’s planning a private memorial in Indiana to honor five fans who died when a stage and rigging collapsed at the Indiana State Fair last weekend. The event will take place after families of the victims hold their own services and memorials. The duo will resume its touring schedule Thursday in Albuquerque, N.M.
Indiana State Fair officials say proceeds from a concert Thursday by Train will benefit victims of the stage collapse.
Talent showcase seeks contestants

Wildwater Kingdom offers special deal

Now through the end of its operating season, Wildwater Kingdom water park is offering Bring-A-Friend savings. Cedar Fair Platinum Pass-holders and Wildwater Kingdom Season Pass-holders can bring a guest to the park for $9.99, a savings of $20 on a one-day visit. Wildwater Kingdom will be open daily through Monday. The park will also be open Aug. 27 and 28 and Sept. 3-5.
PlayStation price cut
NEW YORK
Sony Corp. is cutting the price of its PlayStation 3 gaming console by $50 in an attempt to drum up demand for the 5-year-old machine. It is now $249, down 17 percent from $299. The price cut comes less than a month after rival Nintendo cut the price of its handheld Nintendo 3DS player.
