THURSDAY

St. Michael Orthodox Church, 125 Steel St., Youngstown, serves homemade Chinese lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays. This week’s menu will feature soy sauce pork loin or oriental salad. The cost of the meal is $6. No reservations are necessary.

Woodworth Church of the Brethren, 30 E. Western Reserve Road, Poland, will sponsor a takeout meatloaf dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. The cost is $7 for a meal of meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, green beans and a cookie. Drive up to the back door, place your order, and the meal will be brought to you. FRIDAY

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

SATURDAY

CY-ME Men’s Club of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, 252 E. Wood St., Youngstown, will host its annual corn roast at 6 p.m. The meal includes corn on the cob, roasted chicken, tomato-cucumber salad, watermelon, dessert and coffee or pop. Cost is $10. Coalburg United Methodist Church, 1906 Wick Campbell Road, Hubbard, will serve a Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The meal also includes homestyle mashed potatoes, vegetable, coleslaw, bread and beverage. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children. Baked goods also will be sold, and takeouts will be available.

F5RS Pasta Hop fundraiser is set for noon to 4 p.m. at old South Range High School, 11300 South Ave., North Lima. The Crafting Affaire is hosting the event, which will raise funds for F5RS’s (Frisky Ferrets, Fuzzies & Feathered Friends Parrot & Pocket-Pet Rescue & Sanctuary) bunny spay/neuter program, and for medical bills, food, and supplies for its parrots, guinea pigs and bunnies. Features will include a basket auction; tattoo raffle; bake sale; bunny, bird and pocket-pet supplies; and gift items. Arts and craft vendors will offer quilts, stained glass, candles, jewelry, wood crafts, denim purses and aprons. SUNDAY

Capt. Charles M. Marino Post 3, Italian-American War Veterans, 113 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, will serve spaghetti dinners from noon to 5 p.m. The cost is $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for children 6 to 10. Those 5 and under may eat for free. Carryouts also will be available; containers can be purchased or patrons may provide their own.

New Waterford United Methodist Church, 46925 S. State St., will have it’s annual ice cream social and luncheon at noon Sunday in the fellowship hall. Donations will be accepted; all proceeds will benefit the general fund. Featured will be sloppy joes, hot chicken sandwiches and potato chips; vanilla and chocolate ice cream with sprinkles and peanut butter and fudge toppings; and pints and quarts for sale.

St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 2053 North Road, Warren, will serve a summer barbecue from 1 to 4 p.m. The menu will be slow-roasted chicken or pork, parsley potatoes, corn on the cob, homemade coleslaw, bread and butter, coffee and tea. Various desserts and specialty ethnic desserts, pop and hot dogs also will be sold, and there will be a 50/50 raffle. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 5 to 12 and free for those 4 and under.
