Dad’s will changed before double-murder

BUTLER, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania man changed his will to benefit the son now accused of killing the man and his wife before the suspect allegedly told relatives the couple died in a fiery car crash.

Kenneth Abbott’s will has become public as part of court proceedings to keep his son, 40-year-old Colin Abbott, from accessing his assets. A hearing on that issue was postponed Tuesday until Aug. 25.

Colin Abbott remains in the Butler County Jail on charges he killed 65-year-old Kenneth and 55-year-old Celeste Abbott in early June. Records show Kenneth Abbott changed his will on May 11 so that most of the millionaire’s assets would go to his son.

Defense attorney James Donohue says Abbott is innocent.
