86-year-old Summit County man gets prison for killing wife

AKRON, Ohio (AP) — An 86-year-old man has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for killing his wife during a daylong argument.

Judge Lynne Callahan of Summit County Common Pleas Court here sentenced Glenn Burbridge on Tuesday on his guilty plea to murder.

The Copley Township man admitted fatally shooting 83-year-old Alice Burbridge in the face and head during an argument in March. They had been married 67 years.

The husband called 911 asking for an ambulance and then threatened to kill himself. His wife died one day later.
