14-foot python found in backyard of Cincy home

CINCINNATI (AP) — A 14-foot, 120-pound reticulated python was found in the backyard of a Cincinnati family’s home.

Nathaniel Allbright and his father Alfred Allbright tell The Cincinnati Enquirer one of their dogs found the snake Wednesday under a tarp in the yard.

The Allbrights suspected a snake was nearby when they and their two dogs found a large amount of shed snakeskin in the yard. One of the dogs then found the python beneath the tarp.

Nathaniel Allbright says he fashioned a noose out of pipe and rope to transfer the snake into a trash can.

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals now has the snake. SPCA Deputy Clerk Cary Robers says officials do not know where the python came from or how it got to the yard.
