Suspect questioned in Youngstown arson fires

YOUNGSTOWN — Fire investigators said Tuesday they already have one suspect in last weekend’s rash of arsons on the city’s East and West sides.

Four vacant-house fires blazed through the city Saturday night into Sunday morning — two of which rekindled, reports state.

Fires broke out on Salt Springs Road, Steel Street, Cornwall Street and East High Avenue. Authorities said no injuries were reported.

Investigators said they believe the two fires on the West Side are connected, but stressed they are still looking for more information about all the weekend fires. To report information call 330-743-2141 or leave an anonymous tip at 330-782-0055.
