A summary of recent criminal activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:
CANFIELD
Aug. 8
Fraudulent charges: A resident of the 20 block of Hilltop Blvd. reported identity theft and fraud after two fraudulent charges of $352.22 and $334.55 were made to her Home Savings and Loan checking account.
Aug. 11
Drug abuse: Geoffrey Blanchard, 24, of 4911 Hatfield St., Pittsburgh, Pa., was arrested on a charge of drug abuse after police found a white plastic container of 1.5 grams of marijuana on West Main Street.
Aug. 12
Drug abuse: John Soldo, 38, of 137 Broadway Ave., Youngstown, was arrested on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after police found a colored glass bowl with marijuana residue in it at Fairground Boulevard and U.S. Route 224.
AUSTINTOWN
Aug. 8
Theft: A TomTom GPS and a toolbox were stolen from a vehicle at the Fairfield Inn, 801 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Theft: A tow chain and a Confederate flag were stolen from a home in the 50 block of North Edgehill Avenue.
Criminal mischief: Vinyl siding was spray painted with a racial slur at a home in the 100 block of Westminster Avenue.
Identity theft: Three charges were made to the victim’s account in Georgia at a home in the 5000 block of Yorktown Lane.
Theft: $96 in cash was stolen from an auto at a home in the 4000 block of Mahoning Avenue.
Theft: Tools and a bag were stolen from an auto at the Hampton Inn, 880 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Theft: A “John Doe” was arrested for theft at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.
Aggravated menacing: A female is a suspect in aggravated menacing at a home in the 3000 block of Cumberland Drive.
Theft: A cellphone was stolen at Wendy’s, 27 S. Raccoon Road.
Theft: Joel Forde, 34, of 24 E. Evergreen Ave., Youngstown, was arrested in connection with the theft of two video games at Walmart and released on a summons.
Aug. 9
Criminal damaging: A home was paint-balled in the 1000 block of Countryside Drive.
Theft: Juveniles are suspects in the theft of $30 from a home in the 3000 block of Bryant Drive.
Theft: A guitar was stolen from a home in the 200 block of Marcia Drive.
Breaking and entering: Cigarettes were stolen from Smoker Friendly, 1643 S. Raccoon Road.
Fraud: Fraudulent charges were made to a Home Savings and Loan account for $826 at a home in the 3000 block of Maple Springs.
Criminal damaging: Windows and screens were damaged by paint balls at a home in the 3000 block of Lynhaven Road.
Aug. 10
Attempted theft: A window was shattered and a vehicle was gone through in an attempted theft at a home in the 4000 block of Staatz Drive.
Attempted theft: The trunk of an auto was pried open but the suspect ran off at a home in the 200 block of North Edgehill Avenue.
Warrant: Jennifer Phillips, 44, of 140 N. Navarre Ave. was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on traffic charges.
Menacing: A report of menacing was made for an apartment in the 1000 block of Fountain Square.
Trespass: A male suspect was warned but review of video shows the subject entering the office and restricted areas of the hotel at the Hampton Inn, 880 N. Niles-Canfield Road.
Aug. 11
Telecommunications harassment: Harassment was reported at a home in the 1000 block of Ohltown Road.
Theft: A pink IPhone was taken off a counter at Sears, 6009 Mahoning Ave.
Attempted auto theft: The ignition on an auto was damaged, and a baby seat was taken at a home in the 4000 block of Rhode Island Drive.
Theft: Nine video games were not returned for late rental fees totaling $706.09 at Family Video, 4385 Kirk Road, and Game Stop, 813 Boardman-Poland Road was contacted. The games had been sold to Game Stop.
Theft: A juvenile female is a suspect in the theft of a pair of shoes at Payless Shoe Source, 6000 Mahoning Ave.
Aug. 12
Warrant: Shawn Adams, 41, of 1733 Richmond Ave., Youngstown, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of tampering, forgery and identity fraud.
Theft: An unknown amount of hot dogs was stolen at the TA Travel Center, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive.
Disturbance: Several males were engaged in fighting at Shotz, 3715 Oakwood Ave.
Theft: Concrete statues were stolen from a home in the 100 block of Westminister Ave
Theft: A necklace with diamonds was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Woodridge Drive.
Burglary: Copper pipe was taken from a home in the 3000 block of Mahoning Avenue.
Theft: Front and back Ohio license plates were stolen at a home in the 4000 block of Burkey Road.
Theft: Daniel Campbell, 31, of 829 West Park Ave., Niles, was arrested on a charge of theft in the shoplifting of XBox hardware at Walmart.
Identity theft: Photos of a female were posted on Twitter at a home in the 3000 block of Eigen Street.
Warrant: Patsy Higgins, 32, of 1847 Woodland Trace was arrested on a warrant for child endangering at Petro Place, Girard.
Aug. 13
Theft: A wallet and its contents, including credit cards and cash were stolen from an auto at a home in the 6000 block of Irene Avenue.
Theft: A Sony in-dash AM-FM CD was stolen from an auto in the 1000 block of Compass West.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle was egged at a home in the 1000 block of Woodgate Street.
Aug. 14
Theft: A checkbook, Ohio license and debit card were stolen from an auto in the 200 block of South Edgehill Avenue.
Recovered property: A set of keys was recovered on Forest Hill and Avalon Court.
Theft: A Yardman lawn mower was stolen from a home in the 2000 block of Kirk Road.
Theft: A male is a suspect in the theft of a CB radio, speakers and more from a vehicle in the 4000 block of Central Avenue.
Breaking and entering: A lock was broken and two push mowers were stolen from a home in the 3000 block of South Canfield-Niles Road.
Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted texts were received from a female at McDonald’s, 1707 S. Raccoon Road.
Theft: An Xbox console, controller and game were stolen from a home in the 200 block of South Edgehill Avenue.
