Testimony to begin Tuesday in aggravated vehicular homicide trial

YOUNGSTOWN — A jury was to travel to the South Side crash scene and hear opening statements Tuesday in the aggravated vehicular homicide trial of Tasha L. Moore of Campbell.

She is charged in the March 2, 2010, death of motorcyclist Charles Mulligan, 48, of Boardman.

Jury selection began today before Judge Maureen A. Sweeney of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Moore, 29, of Jackson Street, who reportedly drove without a valid driver’s license, faces a possible two-to-eight-year prison term if she’s convicted.

Mulligan was southbound on South Avenue between Palmer and Hilton avenues when a car pulled into his path from a parking lot.

After he hit that car, Mulligan was thrown into oncoming traffic, where he was hit by a second car. He was then thrown into the path of a third car that hit him and dragged him about 60 feet, police said.
