Quilting shop-hop begins Aug. 25 for 9 sewing stores

Nine sewing stores are sponsoring their first Charming Quilt Shop Tour Aug. 25-Sept. 3.

Each shop has chosen a special quilt block and designed a surprise project for the 10-day event.

Attendees can purchase a shop-hop passport for $2 or the donation of two canned goods to benefit local food banks and shelters.

A grand prize of a Viking Emerald sewing machine valued at $899 will be awarded, plus each shop has donated a $100 prize basket along with two $25 gift certificates.

To qualify for the prizes, participants must visit each shop on the tour and turn in their completed passports.

Participating shops include Cotton Pickers in Chardon; Designers Two Quilt Shop, Cortland; Forever Quilting, Jefferson; Just Quilt It, Warren; Megen’s Quilt Parlor, Albion, Pa.; Quilter’s Fancy, Cortland; Olive Grace Studios, Fowler Township; Shaker Tree, Garrettsville; and Viking White Sewing Center, Niles.
