Pedestrian critical after being hit by car

A 22-year-old woman remained in critical condition Monday after she was hit by a car Sunday night. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash that occurred on South Avenue across from Sam’s Club at about 10:15 p.m. Troopers said 75-year-old Robert Malenic, of Boardman, was driving a 2004 Buick LeSabre when he hit the woman, who was taken St. Elizabeth Health Center. The patrol has not released the woman’s name. No charges have been filed yet, but the investigation continues.
