Driver flees police, dies in crash

CARLISLE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a 25-year-old man is dead following a crash after he fled police.

Carlisle police say the man was ejected from the vehicle after striking several parked cars when he fled a traffic stop Sunday night. A woman was also injured in the crash.

Police say an officer tried to pull the car over after seeing its tail lights weren’t working. Investigators say the car sped off, running several stop signs and going the wrong way on a one-way street before crashing.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle. His name is being withheld pending notification of his family.

The passenger was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
