Improv comedy troupe at Selah
STRUTHERS
Selah Restaurant, 130 S. Bridge St., will host the debut of improvisational comedy troupe Skip Taylor and the Fireballs on Aug. 26.
The troupe is directed by Phil Cowen, who trained at both Second City Theater and ComedySportz Theater in Chicago.
The show uses audience recommendations for its scenes, in the style of TV show “Whose Line is it Anyway?”
Skip Taylor and the Fireballs will run for five weeks Friday evenings at 8 p.m. through Sept. 23. The shows will be in Selah’s second-floor cabaret.

Theater to preview upcoming season

Pittsburgh Public Theater will celebrate its upcoming season with a preview party Aug. 25 at he O’Reilly Theater on Penn Avenue, downtown. The event will begin with a happy hour with live music at 6 p.m. A sneak peek of the 2011-12 season will begin at 7 p.m.
