Softball tournament to benefit research on breast cancer

AUSTINTOWN

Saving Second Base, a slow-pitch softball tournament fundraiser sponsored by A Way With Words Foundation Inc., to benefit early detection and treatment of breast cancer, will be Aug. 28 at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road.

Registration begins at 9 a.m., and the one-day, double-elimination tournament begins at 10 a.m.

The cost is $20 per person, which includes a Saving Second Base T-shirt, lunch and water.

The cost per team, with a maximum of 13 players at least one of whom is female, is $200. Players must be at least 15. For those under 15, there will be a youth game.

Player and team fees are due by Friday. Send or email the names of team players and their shirt sizes.
