Pasta Palooza event will aid cancer victim

Pembrooke Place Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center, 850 E. Midlothian Blvd., will host “Pasta Palooza” from noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 21 to raise funds for Dante DelSignore, a Boardman native.
Tickets for the spaghetti dinner cost $10 and can be bought at Antone’s, Beeghly Oaks, Canfield Beverage, Cassese’s MVR, Catullo Prime Meats, The Fireplace Restaurant, Happy Hour Bar and Grill, Lariccia’s Italian Market Place, Pembrooke Place, Quench Bar & Grill, Salon at the Glen and Shotz Bar and Grill.
Dante was diagnosed with bone cancer in 2007, shortly before his 14th birthday. After aggressive chemotherapy treatment and many surgeries, he was considered cancer-free. Recently, though, he found out the cancer had returned and spread to his lungs.
Dante is traveling back and forth to Akron Children’s Hospital for treatment.
