YOUNGSTOWN

Raymond Spires, 55, of 1204 Salt Springs Road, was charged with animal cruelty, resisting arrest, aggravated menacing, felonious assault and obstructing official business. Police said the crimes occurred in the 400 block of Belle Vista Avenue at 9:25 a.m. Friday.

Youngstown police officer Daniel Mikus filed a report on the incident Friday but gave no details of the incident in his report.

‘Questionable’ death

WELLSVILLE

The Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a “questionable death.” Deputy sheriffs found 22-year-old Holly Carosiello on Friday inside a home at 923 Township Line Road. No further information was available Saturday night.

Leetonia house fire

LEETONIA

Firefighters said the residence at 126 Egypt Road appeared to be a complete loss after flames engulfed it early Saturday. Firefighters from Leetonia, Green Township, Perry Township and Salem responded to the fire, which began at about 1:50 a.m. Crews didn’t leave the scene until 6:39 a.m.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, officials said Saturday night.

Liberty house fire

LIBERTY

Firefighters responded to a house fire at 6504 Sodom Hutchings Road at about 6 p.m. Saturday. The blaze was extinguished about three hours later. No information about damage to the house has been released yet.

Shenango picnic

Cross Paths, Cedar Avenue Bible Church and Full Gospel Businessmen will sponsor a picnic and TV talent hunt at 2 p.m. Aug. 21 at Shenango Township Park, 3239 Hubbard-West Middlesex Road.

Meat and beverage will be provided. Take a covered dish, a dessert and lawn chairs.

Children and adults are encouraged to perform at the annual event.
