A parent Open House will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Rose School, 68 E. Main St.

Various St. Rose organizations will be at the open house for parents to hear about and volunteer for. Parents will also meet the teachers. School starts Aug. 22.

Orientation scheduled

Freshmen and new students entering Howland High School this fall, along with their parents, are invited to attend an orientation at the high school at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

High school staff members will be on hand to explain procedures and regulations. Freshmen attending orientation will receive their schedules. Those unable to attend can pick up their schedules in the guidance office from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday.

Schedules for 10th-, 11th- and 12th-grade students will be distributed from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday.

Struthers students can pick up schedules

Freshmen and new-student orientation will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Struthers Memorial Field house.

Schedule pick-up for 10th- to 12th-grade students will be Friday: sophomores, 9 to 10 a.m.; juniors, 10 to 11 a.m.; and seniors, 11 a.m. to noon.

Senior parking-permit permission slips will also be available. Seniors need to pick up a permit permission form and return it at 7 a.m. Monday.

They will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. There are only 50 parking spots available.

Campbell prepares for new school year

Aug. 31 will be the first day of school for Campbell schools. School district employees will have in-service and professional development days Aug. 29 and Aug. 30. Starting and dismissal times will be for the elementary school, 8:15 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.; middle school, 7:50 a.m. to 2:25 p.m.; and high school, 7:50 a.m. to 2:43 p.m.

New students in kindergarten through seventh grades may register any time between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the elementary-middle school.

New students in eighth through 12 grade may register, beginning Monday, by appointment only. Call Marilyn McCallister, guidance counselor, at 330-799-6316 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to schedule an appointment.

Bus schedules will be mailed out to kindergarten through eighth-graders next week. All students in those grades will be provided a bus ride to and from school.
