Wine workshop at Hoyt Institute

The Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts is offering a wine workshop, titled “Napa vs. Sonoma,” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Stambaugh Chorus is seeking members

The Stambaugh Chorus is accepting new members for the 2011-12 season. For information, call 330-727-4502
Under the direction of Hae-Jong Lee, the chorus will begin its season Aug. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Stambaugh Auditorium ballroom with a potluck dinner.
The first performance will be at the Nonviolence Parade and Rally on Oct. 2 in downtown Youngstown. Other performances include participation in the Stambaugh Chorus Book Fair at Barnes & Noble in Boardman on Nov. 19. December events include performing for St. Patrick Church on Dec. 4 in celebration of its 100th anniversary; a holiday concert in collaboration with the Dana School of Music’s Carols and Cocoa event Dec. 7; and a joint venture with Youngstown Area Community Concert Band on Dec. 11 to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.
In January, the chorus will resume rehearsal and again have limited auditions for the next season. Programming will include a sing-along concert of Handel’s “Messiah” on March 18, in collaboration with area choirs, at Martin Luther Lutheran Church on Clearmount Drive; as well as a multi-ethnic Spring Concert on May 20.
