MM Industries to comply with findings
SALEM
MM Industries, 36135 Salem Grange Road, will comply with the findings from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which this week cited MM with up to $102,600 in fines for 38 serious safety and health violations.
Twenty-eight of the violations involve not knowing the weight capacity of a floor for overhead stocking, and 12 deal with a failure to have a written respiratory-protection program.
Under guidelines, a business has 15 business days to comply, request a hearing with an area OSHA director or contest the findings. An MM representative, when contacted by The Vindicator, said the company will comply and acknowledged the facility, built in 1968, needs some safety improvements.
MM Industries fabricates filtration systems.

Traffic increases at Pittsburgh airport
PITTSBURGH
Passenger traffic at Pittsburgh International Airport increased for the 15th consecutive month in June, according to the most-recent statistics released by the Allegheny County Airport Authority.
The traffic rate rose 1.5 percent compared with June 2010, thanks in part to a larger Dallas-Ft. Worth flight and the addition of a daily flight to Paris.
Year-to-date passenger traffic is up 4.8 percent.
The authority also reminded travelers to arrive at least 90 minutes before scheduled departure times to help combat heavy summer passenger traffic.
